Good Nutrition on a low Salicylate diet

Maintaining a good nutrition on a strict low salicylate diet can be difficult without proper guidance from a dietitian.

Very low salicylate sources of essential nutrients can be found the section on maintaining good nutrition on a low chemical diet – RPAH Allergy Unit Friendly food cookbook see link https://www.slhd.nsw.gov.au/RPA/allergy/resources/foodintol/maintain-good-nutrition.pdf

A more sustainable diet is one that is allows for low to moderate salicylate foods. Friendly recipes at this site allows for that.

If instructed to stay on a strict salicylate diet for an extended period of time (beyond the diagnostic elimination diet challenge), you will most likely be advised that you take some supplements by your health professional and dietitian. Where supplements should be low salicylate, herbal supplements for example are not.
