Whisky Beef

Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • • 500 gram steak (for best taste use grass fed or organic)
  • • 1- 2 tablespoons butter or suitable df alternative
  • • 2  French  Onion Bulbs  or 1 small onion  (For Failsafe use leek or spring onion)
  • • 1/4 cup Whisky
  • • 1/3 cup cream
  • • salt

Instructions

Cut the beef into thin strips.

Cut onion bulbs into quarters and seperate

Cook the onion in the butter over low heat for 5-7 minutes, until the onion is browned and softened.

Increase heat to medium and add beef strips and cook until meat is just browned (don't overcook).

Stir in the Scotch Whisky and cream. Heat gently to reduce slightly.

Notes

For Dinner < 600 can serve with 1/2 cup of brown rice and greens can also serve with white rice, basmati rice (moderate salicylate) is low GI/GL
