There is some evidence that some people with some conditions linked to food intolerance may have increased risk for toxic injury.
This can be worsened by
- not getting enough good sleep (which can be toxic to the brain)
- high exposure to environment and house toxins
- alcohol and drug abuse (prescription and other)
- a diet that is too low in antioxidant foods – phytonutrients, and glutathione.
Common Risks for toxicity are reduced through being your healthiest self and from looking after your liver.
Non medical detox programs are not considered necessary for reducing toxicity, and most are not scientifically backed. Detoxification for concerns like lead poisoning or alcohol or drug dependence or abuse, always need to be medically supervised.
