Leek in White Sauce

Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 1 leek  prepared and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon of dairy free margarine (or butter if dairy is tolerated)
  • 1 tablespoon of gluten free plain flour or cornflour (or wheat plain flour if gluten and wheat tolerated)
  • 1 and 1/4 cup rice milk (can use A2 milk if dairy is tolerated)
  • Salt for seasoning

Method

Microwave in just a tiny amount of water 2-3 minutes or boil or steam leeks for 3- 5 minutes  until soft rinse.

Meanwhile make the white sauce:

place all ingredients but the leek in a cold pan whisk constantly over a medium heat until thickened.
